We want to introduce you to the newest member of the Apothékary family, Releaf - a warming, grounding blend that supports the body during the seasonal shift from Autumn to Winter. With a color reminiscent of fall foliage, a rustic berry flavor and your favorite seasonal spices, this is the blend you want to curl up with on a brisk day.
Releaf features elderberry, beetroot, schisandra berry, MCT oil, ginger and clove. If you are familiar with the power of elderberry syrup, this blend combines the immune system strengthening power of elderberry with superfoods that help to enhance your metabolism, improve digestion, reduce anxiety, improve your mood, and support your body in clearing out debris.
Our bodies thrive when we eat seasonally. In Ayurveda, it is recommended to consume beets during Vata season, which runs from October through March, as this root vegetable can help balance out the dryness and coldness of the season. If you aren’t a fan of beets, we encourage you to try this blend and let us know what you think. We have been able to win over the non beet lovers with this blend so far!
We are excited for you to try Releaf during this time of year when our immune systems could use a little extra support, our digestion is a little sluggish, and we could benefit from improved metabolism. We all know the holiday season brings stress along with it and this is a time of year when seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is common, so we included schisandra berry in this blend to provide some adaptogenic support that will help ease the way.
To complement this blend, we have collaborated with BannerBee Company to provide you with their amazing raw honey. Raw honey is unpasteurized and unprocessed, which allows its beneficial enzymes and antibacterial properties to remain intact. Raw honey contains prebiotics that promote the growth of good gut bacteria, as well as disease fighting polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidants. Additionally, raw honey supports the immune system and it really shines as a natural remedy for coughs and sore throats.
Here's how we recommend using the two together for spoonful of natural immunity-supporting medicine straight from nature.
Herbal Infused Honey
Raw honey (which hasn’t been pasteurized) is a natural preservative and provides powerful immune support, both for cold/flu season as well as seasonal allergies. Store your herbal infused honey in a jar on your kitchen counter and use it as you would regular honey to sweeten food, tea, smoothies, etc. When you need quick and powerful immune system support, just eat 1 tsp. of your herbal infused honey!
- 2 tsp. of Releaf
- 3oz of raw honey
To make an herbal infused honey, stir ReLeaf blend into a jar of raw honey using the herb to honey ratio above.
Note about raw honey:
Raw honey will eventually crystallize naturally and it is perfectly fine to consume in this state. If you prefer that your honey be liquid, loosen the jar lid and place your honey jar into a bowl of very warm (not boiling) water for several minutes & give it a few stirs.
